Sponsored by the Cario Band Boosters
Our "Boost the Band" program is a horse of a different color, as it doesn't really fall under the larger fundraising umbrella, and yet it's still fundraising on behalf of the Cario Bands Program. There are band families who simply do not fundraise for a variety of personal reasons, can easily pay the band fees and fundraising supplement, (and some who fundraise anyway!), and yet still look for another way to financially support the band. "Boost the Band" fills this void. This is a direct appeal to our band families to make a voluntary contribution to the band, independent of the fundraising supplement and the other fundraising activities, and not associated in any way with your student's band account. As a non-profit 501©(3) tax exempt organization, your direct contribution to the Cario Band Boosters, in support of the Cario Bands Program, is tax deductible. It also comes with a few special perks for you!

Before you decide, did you know that...
"...students with experience in music performance score measurably higher in both the verbal and math sections of the SAT;"
"...music has been identified as enhancing spatial reasoning ability, a key for unlocking math and developing the scientific mind;"
"...being exposed to music strengthens all other learning forms, and national test scores rise proportionately with the length of time spent studying music in school;"
"...music is the common language for our shrinking global society, crossing all ethnic and social lines."
("Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser's Music Advocacy Guide: Music Makes the Difference")
"Students who participate in school band or orchestra have the lowest levels of current and lifelong use of alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drugs among any group in our society."
(United States Senate, June 13, 2000: H. Con Res 266)
"In every successful business... there is one budget line that never gets cut. It's called 'product development' - and it's the key to any company's future growth. Music education is critical to the product development of this nation's most important resource - our children." (John Sykes, President of VH1)
