Announcements for the Week Ending September 8, 2006
Band Parent Night...
Band Night is rescheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 5th in the Cario gym at 6:15 p.m. Flyers went home with your children on Friday with details. If you can't find the flyer, a link is posted on the opening page of the website.
6th Grade Mini-Camps
The 6th grade woodwinds and percussion mini-camp will be Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 6:00 p.m. All students should report to the band room with your instrument and you will be directed to your camp location. The 6th brass will be Wednesday, Sept. 6th at 6 p.m. at the band room.
Cario Bands Together for Kids Kickoff
The letter writing and address party will be Tuesday, Sept. 5 during class time. Please send in the address form with your child Tuesday. If you did not receive the flyer and address form that went out last Tuesday, please check out the website...click on the 'Fundraising' button on the left and then click the 'Cario Bands Together for Kids' button. Details and forms are available for your information and printing. Thanks!
No Instruments Tuesday Except....
8th grade jazz class. The rest of the classes will be participating in the letter campaign and do not need their instruments in class.
8th Grade Band Night with Wando Band
The 8th graders will be performing with the Wando Band this Friday night, Sept. 8, at the football game against Summerville. Rehearsal will be Thursday, Sept. 7, from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Wando band room. Call time Friday afternoon will be 5:45 at the breezeway at Wando East on Mathis Ferry Rd. (Go to the large bus parking lot off Mathis Ferry Rd. near the stadium and drop off at the side of the school -- you will see the large Wando Bands trailer parked by the breezeway.)
Required Forms on Band Night
The 5 required forms that came home in your beginning-of-the-year packet(medical, year-long permission, personnel, statement of responsibility, and internet policy forms) will be due on Band Night. If you can't find them, we will have forms available but, to speed things up, it would be extremely helpful if you would print the forms from the website (click Forms on the left side of the opening page, and then click each of the 5 required forms and print), complete them at home, and bring them in already filled out on Band Night. We will have notaries available to notarize the medical form. Thanks!
