Announcements for the Week Ending November 10, 2006

Coat Drive

Our first community service project of the Cario Bands Together for Kids campaign will kick off this week -- look for a flyer coming home with your child Wednesday. We will be collecting clean, gently used coats, sweatshirts, gloves and mittens and jackets for East Cooper Community Outreach for families in our local community. Our letter campaign was very successful and we are encouraging all band students to participate to fulfill the community service that they were sponsored for in their letters. Now that cold weather showed up and everyone was getting something warm to wear, I'm sure that you found lots of things that don't fit anymore if your house is anything like my house! Send those items in and see if your neighbors have anything they were going to run down to Goodwill, etc. -- if we got one item from each band kid, we would be contributing 230 items to families in the Mt. Pleasant community!! Let's get out there and make this as successful as the letter campaign! Collection boxes will be located in the band room and the front office.

Lollipops!!!

The November lollipop sales are this Thursday and Friday, November 9th & 10th, in the cafeteria during the lunch periods. Don't forget your dollar!

We are in great need of volunteers this month -- if you can spare an hour or two on Thursday or Friday, please contact Catherine Brown at lollipops@cariobands.org. Thanks!

Volunteer Call for Pie Pickup

We still need volunteers for the last two shifts on pie pickup day, Friday, November 17th. The shifts are 3 - 5 p.m. and 5 - 7 p.m. This is a great way to get volunteer hours towards your child's Honor Band credit and you can even bring your student for the last shift and get double credit! If you can volunteer for either of these shifts, contact Tara Hyatt at fundraising@cariobands.org. Thanks!

That's it! Short and sweet -- just like this week in school!
