Announcements For October 1, 2007
I hope everyone is having a great school year so far, and has enjoyed the break from all of the band room announcements. We are approaching a busy time of year so watch your announcements. If you are receiving this for the first time, prior band announcements are posted on the website.
Uniforms - Sixth Grade
The deadline has passed for the sixth grade students to be fitted for black pants at Stagecoach. If you have not already visited Stagecoach, please be sure to go there this weekend (off of the IOP Connector between Target and Piggly Wiggly). Each sixth grade band student will need to have black pants from Stagecoach for the concerts and they are planning to submit the order on Monday. If you have any questions, please write to Shary Long at uniforms@cariobands.org. Also, if you have been given the appropriate pants from another band student, let Shary know so that she can mark you off of her list.
Uniforms - Seventh Grade and new Eighth Grade students
The seventh graders have been fitted for tuxes and dresses and the orders have been placed. If you have not already sent in your payment, please do so. If you are a returning eighth grade student who will need a new tux, or parts of the tux, please contact Shary at uniforms@cariobands.org.
Low Country Invitational - Marching Band Competition
As part of the grade, students are required to attend outside band performances. A great opportunity to attend a performance as well as support the Wando Band is coming up on Saturday, October 6th. Starting at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon, several bands from the low country area will be performing at the Wando football stadium. Middle school students get free admission. The Wando Band will be marching around 8:30 pm. A flyer is coming home with your child with all of the details, and a copy of that flyer is on the website as well. This is a great way to see the "competition" as well as to see the fantastic Wando Band perform!
Pass-offs reminder
Mr. Scott still does not have internet access. So please be sure to print out the pass-off information from SmartMusic and send it in with your child instead of e-mailing it in.
