Announcements for January 20, 2010
All State Auditions
For our students who received a call back to audition for All State:
- Auditions are this Saturday, January 23rd. Audition times are posted in the bandroom and at cariobands.org.
- Auditions held at Lexington H.S. in Lexington, SC. You are responsible for transportation for your student to and from the audition. Please visit the link for directions.
- Audition guidelines are similar to Region auditions and are posted on cariobands.org/events. Please review guidelines carefully. Students MUST have original book for solo.
Region Clinic - CORRECTION
Region clinic will be February 26th & 27th, not January 26th & 27th as stated in From the Band Room from January 13th. My apologies for the error. It will be held at Charleston Southern University. More information about this clinic will be posted as it becomes available. The list of Region Band members will not be finalized until after All State auditions.

Percussion Students
Mr. McGrew from Wando Band has made the website www.eastcooperms.edublogs.org available to our percussion students. It has exercises, links and other useful information. Students should check it regularly.
Concert Opportunities
The holidays have ended but there is still quite a bit going on around town musically. Students need to fulfill their outside concert attendance for the second semester. Please visit Charleston Jazz Orchestra, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Post & Courier for upcoming performances.
Florida Trip Payment - 7th & 8th Grade
The 1st payment of $125 for the Florida Trip was due on January 13th. Payments may be deposited in the lockbox in Mr. Scott's office or mailed to Cario Band Boosters, 1121-B Park West Blvd., Box 224, Mount Pleasant, SC 29466. Please be sure to include on the memo line of your check your student's name and the purpose of the check. If you are sending in cash, please put it in an envelope marked with the student's name and purpose of the payment. Please remember that students must have ALL their required forms submitted in order to participate in the Florida Trip.
