Symphonic Band (Wind Ensemble)
In order to alleviate any confusion between 7th grade symphonic band and Symphonic Band (the performing ensemble), the directors have chosen to rename Symphonic Band the Wind Ensemble.
Rehearsals at 7:15 a.m. Please be on time as there is limited rehearsal time in the morning. Our students are working very hard and hopefully will not need to add too many extra rehearsals.

Spring Fundraiser
Orders for the Flower Fundraiser are due this Thursday, February 18th. Also, this is your last chance to turn in any Candy orders so we can get the orders filled and delivered before Spring Break.
Jazz Band & Percussion Ensemble/Troubador Concert
The Jazz Band and Percussion Ensemble will perform with the Troubadours next Tuesday, February 23 at 7 p.m. in the gym. Performing students should wear their full concert attire (tuxedoes or black dresses). Please come out and enjoy a swinging concert. For students not performing, this is a great chance to complete one of your concert performance evaluations for this semester.
Attention 6th grade parents: There are still many band forms outstanding from the 6th grade. Please stop by the forms table before the concert to fill out missing forms and have your medical form notarized. If you are planning for your student to go on the 6th grade trip to Carowinds in May, please note that registrations will not be accepted unless all forms have been submitted. Contact Chris Davis at hospitality@cariobands.org or Mary Dinda at uniforms@cariobands to check the status of your forms. All forms are available at cariobands.org/forms.
Region Band Clinic Information
A Region Band Clinic information sheet was sent home with your student and is available at cariobands.org. Please remember that parents are responsible for transportation to and from the Region Band clinic on February 26 & 27. Now is the time to get your carpools together. A list of students attending the Region Band clinic is available at cariobands.org. The clinic will be held at Charleston Southern University which is on Hwy 78 off of I-26. The schedule is 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. There will be a concert on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The students will need to be in full concert uniform for that performance.
Practice Charts
There are lots of weekly practice charts not being turned in and it's obvious in class that students are not keeping up with the required work. The directors do not want to make cuts to performing bands but will if necessary.
Save the Date! Wind Ensemble and 7th Grade Symphonic Band Mini Camp
Please keep Friday, March 26th open on your calendar for a possible mini camp. Students will be fine tuning their performance for Concert Festival the following week. More details to follow as date nears.
